Math Journals
Welcome 2012-2013 students! I am excited to have you in my classroom this year. I have participated in an excellent class on education over the summer and we are going to be doing some great things this year! We are no longer going to have a math journal in a notebook:) Your math journal this year is going to be completely online. You will be creating your own wiki and you will write your journals in there. Even more exciting you will be able to read other students journals and you will never have to worry about losing your notebook! Yeah! Also, every note you take will be in the same place and you can go back all year long! I am excited about the new things coming this year and I hope you enjoy!

All of the pages from now on will be according to the chapter we are covering in class. You will include notes from that chapter, thoughts, and responses. There are things throughout the chapter that I want you to include, but you will be able to add other things of your choice that will help you! I hope this will be a useful tool to help you become an independent learner and thinker. You will also be able to read other students' wikis in the class and then ask questions or make comments. I expect all comments to be positive and helpful.

This page is not the same as problem solving hints. This page will include steps or a thought process you should follow in order to solve a problem. You will be given strategies to use throughout the year, but you may also create some of your own strategies. This will be an area where you need to include strategies that help you the most!

On the second page you will have all of your vocabulary words with a definition. On some words you will also include a pictue to help you remember what the words mean. You will not have to do a picture for every word, but there are some words that are key in being able to do math. You will also have the choice to include a picture on some other words you are having a hard time with. This will help you keep your words organized and available to you at all times.
